1997 Red Corvette targa top auto with Z06 Wheels, Full exhaust. We went from 25mph on the highway, it was fun but I had atleast 2 1/2 car lengths on him by 100 and still pulling strong. Anyone know what those run in the 1/4 stock?

 

Auto vettes have alot of drivetrain loss they also have 2:73 or optional 3:15 rearend gears. At my elevation the auto C5's run mid to high 13's and with full exhaust it should be in the low 13's. Nice kill

 

At normal elevation, high 12's/low 13's. My piggish Camaro has the same drivetrain and went 13.5 @ 105.

So full exhaust 97 vette will go that fast in the quarter mile? Yeah right one of the other LS1 guys in here have said that a 02 vetter will only go high 13's in the quarter. A 97 is not as fast as a 02 so full exhaust will get a 97 vette about 1.5-2 secs? Come on dude be real. I raced a 96 vette when I was stock from a roll and we were dead even all the way to 105mph.

 

Auto vettes are slow stock compared to six speeds which regularly see 12's stock. However a 96 vette would be a C4 they are not nearly as strong running as the C5's at least the six speeds.

 

What is normal elevation to you guys?????? I don't believe a 6 speed vette will see 12's stock in the quarter mile.


It took 04 Z06s gears, exhaust, and intake to hit mid 11's. So a slower car is going to run 12's in the quarter mile stock? What about a conv 6 spd what do they run???? I can hang with a stock vette all day long I have even beat a few from a roll. So what does that make my car????

 

It's been done before. Just trust me, but its not "common" or its not like they do it everyday all the time everywhere... it's been done before.

 

Is a 02 SS or T/A or Z28 faster than a 02 Vette??????????????????????

 

They run very close to each other vettes are lighter but F-bodies have less drivetrain loss.
