Angry Improving 60Ft times

Hello Everyone

I know this type of thread comes along alot but i just can't seem to improve my 60ft, right now my Personal Best is a 2.004 60ft. I am using DR's and they hook really well no spin as i can tell. My stang is also auto, Its like it boggs down for a split sec and then wants to go. Is a higher stall going to reslove this problem? Thats a winter job so is there any driving tips i can try to reslove this problem lets say holding it at a higher rpm on the foot break? if so whats a good rpm for this?

Thanks

Yes a higher stall converter will help you out.....A TON. Now don't waist your money on B&M or TCI, go a Precision Industries and get AT LEAST a 3000 rpm stall speed.

What he said. You gotta be able to leave hard to get the most out of your DRs. Something around a 4 grand launch would help alot.

I'm in the same boat as you... i went to the track last night expecting to maybe hit 12s and turns out my fking MT's are almost bald and getting anything better than a 2.0 60ft is hopeless till i get new ones. ***.

I'm a bit surprised. My car has much shallower gears in the rear and, according to the dyno (lulz) makes less power than yours, yet I can get 1.9 60 ft times. With 3.73 gears I wouldn't be surprised if I could cut a 1.8. What is the approximate stall speed of your stock converter? Mine is about 1800.

A PI converter would make a big difference. Something around 3600 rpm would be very reasonable with 3.73 gears and a Lockup Converter.

If you dont know anything about converters it would only flash to 3600 rpm under full power. The car would still accelerate under part throttle at a much lower rpm. (Some people have the mistaken assumption the car wont move until rated stall speed is reached).
