You should know as well as anybody that one of the first things kids do when they get this car is go out and buy the HKS or Greddy or etc BOV so they can be "cool" and blow off at people.

Maybe down in the sticks where you live thats what they do but around here the list of mods usally goes 1. AGP wastegate actuator to turn the boost up. 2. Big front mount intercooler, just because it looks cool. 3.Exhaust cutout so they can make a bunch of noise. It's the ricers thats real big on the blow off valves.

The age of the SRT-4 driver seems to be doing nothing but going down. It's "cool" to have the loud BOV and blow off at people. If the SRT-4 down-shifted and was catching up to him, he would have shifted at least once most likely, resulting in the OP hearing the bov.

***Howard- they are ok, mine didn't get annoying; but then again I didn't have one that was high pitched or sounded like a whistle. What's sexy though...is hearing a bov on a mustang...*drool*

 

Eh, the most practical BOV for when you're actually puttin down some power is a synchronic BOV. Youtube it. Amazing. No compressor surge.

 

That loud *** psssttt you hear is totally stock. Trust me on this one. I can post a video of me racing and from 40 yards away you can hear that annoying pppssssttt. I'm on stock stage 3 boost control. The only difference from stock & stage 3 is a slightly stronger spring in the wastegate actuator. The only people bolting BOV to their cars are ricer wannabes and guys with big turbos that actually need a BOV. There just a noise maker that you waste money on.

 

no it doesnt, its just loud when u want it to be. I shift at 2k in order to get great mileage and i barely hear my blow off valve
