R/T Question
Here is my best run from tonight:
R/T... .495
60...2.164
330...5.984
1/8...9.070
MPH...79.67
1000...11.698
1/4...13.926
MPH...101.89
Question is...if I would have trimmed some of that R/T would I have gotten a better 1/4 time? 13.926 minus .495 is 13.431. So its safe to say I would have done that 13.431 if by some miricle I cut a .000 R/T?

I just found this...
So when does the ET timer actually start?
The timer only starts once your front tires leave the starting line and the Stage beam is re-connected. It does NOT start when the green light comes on. Because of this, reaction time does not in anyway effect your ET. To repeat that, the R/T timer stops when the Stage beam re-connects and the ET timer starts when it re-connects....never the two shall meet.

When you are learning to Drag Race, DO NOT WORRY About the Reaction Times...
Work on Launching your Car, the 60 foot time needs to be sub 2.0. You could sit at the starting line for as long as you want and ou can stil run your best time. the launch is the most important. work on popping the clutch, squeez it out on 1st and 2nd, try not to spin your tires and you will see improvments

have fun
I assume this was your first time to the track by your question. For a first time out thats not a bad E/t or 60.Reaction time is only important in a heads up race where you want to cross the finish line before the other guy.
The only thing that's awesome about getting a good R/T is the fact that you can beat the other down the track. You may not beat his 1/4 mile time........but you'll beat him to the end of the track which means you win the race. It basically shows who the better driver is.
If you run a 12.9 and the other guy runs a 12.5 his car wins. However if you beat him down the track because you had a better R/T, but his time was better.....you won the race (since you past the 1/4 mile mark first), whereas your car lost (because your time was slower .

Thanks Bluebeastsrt, it was my first time in about 15 years. First time with the 2008 Stang. I had a 79 Camaro I ran back in the late 80's at Englistown....showing my age! I also play a lot of Drag Racing Main Event on the PC. It helps with the R/T I believe. I cut a .330 R/T at one point that night but spun the tires at the line...I need launching work!
I lost only 1 race that night out of 6. A corvette 427 took me down

I also had a 79 Z28. I had to sell it when my wife beat me while she was driving our SRT-4 three times in a row. I told her my great driving ability in a slower car would beat her none driving *** in a faster car. I was wrong!
Dont feel to old my friend I was running a 70 El Camino at front street in the mid 80s.
