I was just on the way home with my girlfriend. We are crussing on the highway and this car starts following me. When it got close I saw it was an S2000. The guy wants to race, and tells me to slow down. We both go on third @ about 45 mph. He starts reving up and we both floor it. I started pulling on him right away. As soon as I hit 4500 rpms I got almost a car on him. I bet he didn't expect this. I went thru my rpms and slam 4th gear. By that time he was History. I had like 2 cars on him. The guy freaked out so bad that he went over the red line bc I heard his exhaust going crazy back there. I guess he gave up. I slowed down afterwards to tell the guy good race and all that good stuff but he never got next to me. My guess, he can't take loosing very good.

 

good kill.....!! S2000's are quick too... didnt know a stang has them that easy... even though you got mods, didnt know we had them with just those mods.. thought we had to go deep into the motor to blow em away.

why is it that i can never find someone to race me?!?!?! i cruise everywhere lookin for people cause i have only been in 2 races before. and i won em both.. i find all thes cars and they wont race me! i pulled up on a camaro and the guy had stuff done and he he downshifted to 4th but wouldnt go! i need to race someone!

hey racer02gtstang the same thing happens to me nobody wants to race and then some time everyone wants a piece of you.

I didn't know how fast there were either. Maybe the driver sucked but I had him easy. Never expected it to tell you the truth

 

Well, when you were stock they would be a good race for you. S2000s are about even with 99+ Mustang GTs. And no people, I don't want to hear **** about how you have to rev to get anything out of the engine. that has no bearing on this in the slightest...

Anyway, 04 S2ks got an updated F series engine (stroked from 2.0L to 2.2L) and a bump in torque with a lowered redline. (9000 lowered to 8000)

Other changes include updated front and rear fascias and 10 spoke 17s as opposed to the old 5 spoke 17s.

Right on! S2s arnt that bad. I drove one once...I would never buy one...but they're nice cars. If I had $25,000, I think I would look into getting a 95-98 Cobra, then useing the extra skrill for a twin turbo set up...oooohhh....my car now has 1 60-1 turbo in it....aaahhhh....if only I had a cobra....then I could say...."yeah, well I have 2 of 'em"

 

Have you tried going to your local track on T&T night?

I used to race on the street, until I got busted. Now i take it to the track, it ain't worth it to me.

 

I have about the same mods as you (cept for 4.10's) and often wondered how I'd fare against one. There are $hit-tons of em around here, but every time I see one it's driven by an old person![:@][]

 

are the 04s still about even with a 99-04 GT with those little changes?
