Ya I figured that there is going to be a lot more that I will have to do to my car if I want to start getting in the 11s. I saw nothing about it being ok to run 11.5 and up with no role cage. The site I was looking at that covered all the different requirements for each time, it said that if your under 12 that you need a role cage and a 5 point harness. Where are people getting this 11.5 second number from?
Heres what I was looking at:

11.49 or quicker is was is stated in the NHRA rule book. Different tracks can make whatever rules.

maybe I should just run with my 20s on until my budget can recover and I can put a roll cage in and a harness, then I wont be close to that. LOL

will it be built b4 u go to the track?

and def drop the 2 pc shaft. I've seen them snap with cars near 500hp/475 ft lbs

I've never heard of a NHRA track varying from NHRA rules.

The minimum you need is a 5-point roll cage at 11.49 for coupes and 13.99 for ragtops.
A 4-point cage will not pass, sorry.

good luck. With that amount of power, I am interested to see what you can run w/ very stockish suspension. I do see that you have Bogarts too. idk good luck either way.

it used to be 11.99, but because of all the corvettes and terminators running around, they changed it to 11.49 because there were just so many people running below it. nowadays, there are even a lot of street cars around that run lower than 12.0's stock........if your a good driver, you can't even take a new z06 to the track without fear of getting booted.

and yea, no consequences. they just tell you to get a cage for next time and send you on your way.

why not get a cage? seems like you've got quite a bit of money tied up in the car and it'd be a good investment to get a nice cage with swing-out arms.
