C6 Kill
Finally, after waiting forever I got to race someone in my new setup.
My buddy from an old job called me up last night to tell me about his new Vette he (finally) bought (dude's been talking about it for 5 years now
) an 07 Corvette (aww, not the super awesome LS3... ah well) 6 speed manual with the Z51 package. (stock except for a K&N intake kit, no tune.) Coolness.
As for me, I'm just a big slow boat with little things done here and there.
So we met up over at a nice quiet place, and lined up.
1st race: We line up, honk off and hit it. We both spun like crazy but I finally hooked and put 2 1/2 cars on him up until about 110-115.
2nd race: I hook, he spins and I let out of it because he killed it after spinning so badly.
3rd race: He hooks and I get him off the line by 1 car, by 110 it's about ~3 cars (?), 130 ~4(?) cars. Couldn't really tell, he was the one who gave me these lengths... All I saw were his headlights behind me.
So thats that. He's an ok driver, and I'm ok as well (nothing great on either of our parts). My stall is taking a little getting used to, and my tires in the rear are at the end of their life (already have some Nitto 555Rs, just need to throw them on), he was on stock rubber.
Gave him my Diablo for my Denali (it tunes LS2 and LS3 vettes as well) since I didn't need it anymore (HP tuners from now on for that SUV), so now he at least has a canned 93 tune. We're both planning on heading to the track, and he already has headers and a new exhaust on order so that should also wake it up a bit more so it should make it even more fun. He was talking of a cam, but we'll see.

Dunno, he probably would have but he gave up after I pulled on him. He does have the weight advantage, and all. From a roll it would be different, but from a dig I kept killing him off the line pretty hard and he was launching pretty hard. (Well the time he hooked heh).
Plus, if he would have started reeling me in on the top end the next run I'd have just sprayed and made the gap that much larger
My car was pulling more the faster we went though, I think the initial (edit: initial gap that is, damn crappy typing skills) helped me out by keeping him back far enough he couldn't make it up, even up in the triples.
I can't wait to take my car to the track, weather has been wonderful. We'll see what I can pull out of the car, I have a pretty good idea what I think it'll run... But we'll see.

/\ yeah i hear ya. I didnt see that you had giggle gas!
when I ran a LS3 '08 Vette and we ran (4x in total) from a 70 roll or so we were even till 120 and I ran out of gear.... then he started to pull on me and I knew I was toast. 5th gear, top down and 120+ = death for my vert!

I have no problems using it if I have to though
Yeah, 5th is my death gear as well. 4th (stock power) winds out to about 175ish, I haven't gone that fast and really don't intend to
I should have enough power now to use 5th, but who knows.
(Phaser V1). I did give the Diablo I used to use on the Denali to my buddy with the C6 cause it tunes those cars as well, probably as well as it did the Denali which means probably not much.
Oh no, HP Tuners is on the Denali... Diablo CMR on the SRT8, HP Tuners is supposed to be coming out with a package for the new 'Hemi', but we'll see. Love it in the Denali, especially with the new cam I put in it

But yeah, I can't wait until HPTuners comes out for the SRT8
Worked wonders on the Denali, especially on the 6 speed tranny... Stock (and with the Diablo) it shifted like ***.
