The GTR really is a great car, unfortunately Nissan hyped it to the stars and now it can't meet expectations.

+1 to that,

"7:54 puts it behind the C6 Z06, Ford GT, and only 4 seconds faster than a Base C6 Z51"

I always thought that time was fishy but no matter. The Viper ACR handled even Nissans self proclaimed glory lap! Now that I got that out of my system. The GT-R is an awesome car.

It wasn't a secret that the GT-R Nissan used had aftermarket tires, but wow 25 seconds is a LIFETIME! It doesn't surprise me in the least, tires make up such a huge difference on a road course. It's good to hear someone finally had the ***** to call Nissan out... although I doubt that the racer was very objective, he may have been pedalling to make the GT-R look slower since he was a Porsche employee... haha

Interesting to read, curious as to if Nissan will respond now. Good find.

I'm sure the auto magazines will just love that.

how sticky of a tire did they use? I've only seen a difference between street tires and running something like Hoosiers, or another race oriented tire, otherwise, just changing brand's hasn't shown much of a difference for me
