Default 1995 vs 2006

ok so my friends got a 2006 mustang GT almost completely stock except for cold air intake. he was talking **** last night about 5.0's and said that his car would leave mine in its dust. well that kinda hurt my feeling..just kidding it pissed me off so i told him to put his money where his mouth is and well settle this with a good old street race. there is a place near our houses that it empty late friday and saturday nights. its a huge sports field with a 3 mile road around it with 2 straights stretching 1 mile each. he doesnt know much about cars and is a little too coky for his own good. he thinks he will beat me by 3 car lenghts. our bet is foe 200$ and i dont even have to win all i have to do is not lose by 2 car lenghts. im pretty sure i can beat him though. i a more experienced driver and his car it an auto that is like 500 punds heavier than mine. what do u guys think?

If he can't drive you will take him. Have you ran at a drag strip at all? I am just wondering because I know what a S197 can run but I don't know what a 95 cobra can run.

I don't know it might be closer than you think. I keep up with my friend's '99 Cobra in my 05 GT, he has 4.10, A/B exhaust, and an intake, I have an intake, tune and A/B exhaust.

I'm with 99 on this one. You don't exactly have any big power adding mods in your sig, and SN95's aren't exactly known for being a terror...

Yup, I would like to know what happens, so report back. Also, just curious but why would you get a radiator and fan before doing a cam or heads?

Edit: Oh and in your original post you say you have the weight advantage, which is true, but I would say 200 lbs at most, not 500.

Then the mods in your sig is an incomplete list. You've got this one if that is true, a S197 with intake and tune should not break into the 12's.
