Unless the guy in the S197 can't drive the cobra goes down. Just remembered the guy's driving a auto. Race outcome: S197 by a car.

So basically going off the mods in your sig it seems like the general concensus is that a slight edge goes to the S197. How fast do you guys plan to go when you race? Because if you only have to stay within two cars to "win" the bet, you will want to stick to a shorter distance/lower speed race.

i think it's pretty close, my 89 vert is 3550lb's with my 230lb butt in there, my friend's 06 GT with midpype and catback exhast, and intake was 3670, he's about 210lb's.

id say the weight should be about the same, or the OP could be 100-200lb's lighter (200 would be pushing it)

so what, 100-200lb's, close to the same RWHP.......

id say if he can launch hard, and shift perfect he should have it......

but not by much.
How are you getting from 240/250rwhp to 260/270 rwhp? We both know that getting 20hp is not that easy in a 5.0 unless he swapped heads and/or cam and most likely he didn't. I've never seen a GT40 headed car with a cam as mild as the Cobra cam make that kind of power. So in reality he is probably making between 240-250rwhp.

Also your weight has nothing to do with the weight of an SN-95 vert as SN-95 weigh a good bit more then a Fox. Most likely the weight is going to be very similar.

Only way he win being down that much power is if he has some DR's and he can launch it.

I dont like the OP's chances. And exactly how are you both going to decide two car lenths. Are you goibng to have someone video the end of the race? Everybody I race. If I beat them by 5 cars, they say it was 2 and I say it was 7 cars!

Well I have an Manual and I ran a 13.5 with 3.31 gears and was made to go through a water box and spun 1st gear pretty bad... with an intake and tune the rest of my mods do nothing for performance except the short throw...

i only knew one person of the car's i saw

her car had headers (dunno the brand) o/r H pip, and flow master cat back, i think the CAI was a MAC that go's into the fender.

only other mod i know of was gear's, and put down 239rwhp.

i dont think 240hp would be totaly out of the question, with said mod's if the car was in perfect shape.

270rwhp with all intake mod's, bolton's and full exhaust would be rare, but i think if the set up was perfect it could be possible.

again, im just throwing this out there, im not saying every car will get that, but im saying its possible.

im busy right now, but later tonight ill pull up some video's and such ive seen in the past.

i only "know so much" because i wanted a 95 SVT cobra for a while, untill i settled on my fox.
i love foxes now, dont think ill own a sn95 unless i came across some crazy deal someone had one a sn95 someone had droped a carb'ed big block into or something

This totally depends on what the OP constitutes is a race. I've beaten an '05 GT automatic back to back and most "pundits" around here figure I'm lucky if I make 190RWHP. Be that as it may, I drive a light fox and not a SN95 vert. In my case the S197 was stock not tuned etc. A CAI/tuned one would get me where I got him...early (and badly on the high end obviously)...when I hit 4th he was doorside, down from as much as a car early, and moving along past nicely when I considered it a race done. The '05 S197 GT auto is just mash and wait, the OP's opponent would have to be a **** to blow it. They hook off the line with no rubber whatsoever...
