3 races tonight...
The 4.10 car should pull the 3.73 car on top end. Thats on our cars anyway. The key is to get the car into its powerband and keep it there. 3.73s are a good choice too, especially if you're worried about gas, traction, etc.
4.10s don't murder your top end the way people think. On a car that needs to rev and has the wrong gearing, etc, for top end to begin with, 4.10s actually help the top end by making 4th and 5th pull harder up top. My 5th gear sucked in my Mach until I got 4.10s, dying out at 140 mph as soon as I shifted out of 4th. After the gear swap, that problem didn't exist anymore. I also picked up a ton of trap speed on the track, like 3-4 mph. You can still run +150 mph with 4.10s. You'll never run out of gear in 5th unless you go with some seriously stupid steep gearing. A mustang (95% of them) will never wind out 5th with 4.10s. You'd have to be running like 200mph.
Haha I see know, I though you were directing the info towards me but you were directing it towards BoDuke0220. I think BoDuke meant; what speed does your car top out at with 4.10's not when does your car run out of breath.
Good runs. I love how people so many of these people refuse to go from a dig. It just shows their lack of driving ability, and their sad excuse for a setup. What good is power if they can't get it to the ground?
+1000...i duno why either, the guy in the mustang wanted to do a roll race from 70...i said no.
Yes but for the purposes of reading about races in S/S section, I like to hear about roll races, where the faster car wins not the better driver......I'm really only interested about how the two cars match up.
stock 3.27 geared cars can hit 130 in 4th
i think 4:10s top out at 112 in 4th
i think 4:10s would be better to 112 but then i think stock geared cars would catch up on the pull from 112-130
then the stock geared car would fall back again at 130+
