Default 3 races tonight...

Wendsay nights at sonic people from the around towns meet up and show off their cars, well there were 3 different races i got myself into, first one was against a auto S4, said his turbos were "leaking oil" so his boost was low, put a good 2+ cars on him,

Next was a 03 mustang GT, said he only had intake and exhaust but from the outcome im not so sure.We rolled from a 40, he honked it off and by about 110 i had a what only seemed like maybe a car or 2. so not sure if it was totally stock.

Last race was a 89-93 supra. He as well said stock so he asked me if he could get the jump, so that he could spool, i said whatever lets do this. We slow down to 20 and he starts to spool up so then i drop it in 2nd and go. He completely mis-shifts, so we turn around and are headed back the other way and line up again, this time from around 40 or so. I let him spool up and has a half car lead on me when i gun it, but by the time i was late in 5th gear i had a good car on him. He never honked it off, and the reason i dont think he was stock was that his turbo was LOUD and i could hear his BOV every time. Had alot of fun though.

My mods: full bolt on (minus headers) with 4.10s and d/r

What bolt ons do you have? Why do expect to beat an intake/exhaust car by more the one or two cars? You only have gear on him.

4.10s don't murder your top end the way people think. On a car that needs to rev and has the wrong gearing, etc, for top end to begin with, 4.10s actually help the top end by making 4th and 5th pull harder up top. My 5th gear sucked in my Mach until I got 4.10s, dying out at 140 mph as soon as I shifted out of 4th. After the gear swap, that problem didn't exist anymore. I also picked up a ton of trap speed on the track, like 3-4 mph. You can still run +150 mph with 4.10s. You'll never run out of gear in 5th unless you go with some seriously stupid steep gearing. A mustang (95% of them) will never wind out 5th with 4.10s. You'd have to be running like 200mph.

thats what i thought, so a 4.10 vs 3.73 car with equal drivers. the 4.10 will pull him all the way through 5th? thats what i always thought but my friends seem to tihnk other wise

i dont remember what my car felt like with the stock gears compared to the 4.10s in 5th but now that i think about it 5th gear does pull a little bit, bit it still feels like it falls on its face when i get into 5th.

mods i got: tb/plenum,intake, catbak, o/r x, LCAs, 4.10s, diablo predator. and d/r (not helping on the rolls)

83gt: i guess i just figured i would have had him by more, but obviously not haha
