How Tempting would it be
That should work if you are going of the sleeper look. Most important is stock wheels in my opinion and no stickers, body add ons (spoilers). My car is mostly stock but have black wheels on it. I get challenged all the time.
I think the key is to not look fast or sound fast. There was a Mopar that terrorized Woodward Ave in the late 60s called the Silver Bullet. It had a 10sec 440 motor in it, and he had 4 mufflers to keep it quiet. You can probably google it. It's well documented.

Hm..
If i was to see that, the brakes, shaved fenders would set me off as something different- average bolt on sixxers dont nomally get big brakes or do bodywork.
then theres the cage.
(and can I have your GT bumper?)

Although I do like the sleeper look, I really don't know how well it would work since you've got the cage. I really like the GT bumper on there and I'm not really sure that a V6 bumper would make it look that much slower, but if you want to go that route more power to you.
I think the average schmoo will not know the difference. however a real car guy will know how a V8 sounds and know that the car is not a V6. plus a quick bend down will allow one to see the dumps, not seeing even a single tail pipe would make me take a look.
I dont recall the blower u run, but I think its a centri? A knowldegable guy will hear that too.
And IIRC you have a car in the car? that there IMO blows the sleeper look, as why a cage if the car is "slow"
Its a little off topic, but close enough.

Well, if you were to actually take time in a parking lot to bend down just to see anything, you would notice that I'm running a full coil-over set up, you'd be able to see the Independant rear, if you looked underneath you can see the 6sp (it's freaking huge), and you can see the oil feed and return lines for the blower, Not to mention that you can see the huge aluminum radiator and the oil cooler through the front facia .
So, if you were to actually care enough to bend down and look, you could see exactly what I was running for the most part, but my concern isn't really being "challenged on the street"
there were actually a couple reasons I'd like to do this, one of them is that I personally just prefer big time a car that can be as sleek as can be.
The second reason is some jackass with a shopping cart scraped my rear bumper. I was able to sand it, primer it, and blend it in myself, but I still know it's there, and it isn't perfect.
The third reason, is it would give me a great excuse to tear the car down and put it back together. There are a couple squeeks and little noises from the interior that I would like to quiet down.
Fourth, I get so much attention from law enforcement its unbelieveable. I've been pulled over while I was going the speed limit and was being passed by two different cars.
I've already considered filing a harrassment suit (pulled over 18 times in the first three months I owned the car), but I've decided that it would be too much trouble and would probably result in more attention/harrassment from law enforcment.
I figured the easiest way to quiet all of this down while still maintaining a car that is faster than I know what to do with was to make it look like a base model at least a little bit.
I have a couple running pony badges with the locating pins ground down that I could put on the fenders if it came to that, but I think that the v6 rear bumper would really help.
I also have a set of stock GT rims that I might have to have widend for the rear, and have mounted.
You could put the sixxer bumper on there, throw a gigantic wing on the back, apc stickers on the fender, and some 20's with spinners. Then folks would just think you're a silly ricer with bad taste.
But even then, as cacimar said, you'd get every other ricer on the streets trying to come after you, not that you would commence, but Im sure it'd get annoying. But, on the flipside, you would get the occasional bully trying to cream his twinkie by picking on an "inferior" car, and you'd get to bust that ****, which is what needs to happen in these cases.
So, what it boils down to is the main reason for wanting to do this is first get the fuzz off your back, then just out of shear boredom? I wish I had the *****/patience/knowledge to completely tear a car down, especially just to fix a couple squeaks.
I have to agree with the other member that said a stock gt look would be a little better than the 6er look. Good luck with w/e you decide....

I think I'm going to just do what most have suggested and stay looking like a GT.
I'll probably still lose the 4.6 badge, and go with a v6 bumper just because I'm running dumps.
And yes, 18x in the first 3 months. I've probably been pulled over 1-2 times a month since then. Enough for them to remind me that I'm being watched. Why, I don't know, with zero tickets on my record it doesn't make sense.
