Default Gti kill

I was riding down route 9 and i passed a gti waiting to pull out of gas station and about minutes later i look behind me and hes weaving in and out of cars just missing people just to catch up to me he does a ricer flyby... So i guess enough traffic caught up or whatever but i ended up next to him at a light hes reving and rolling back and forth he definatly has an exhaust(which sound like crap btw..). The light changes and i punch it once i get to 3500 my tires break and spin until around 5500 so hes got about a half a car on me i go to second and the break loose again at first but once they grab i pull on him and leave him in the dust shifting up to about 120. Well you figure most people would take the loss now. Well not him. At this point im slowing down from around 110 cause were catching up to traffic up ahead and i see him flying up doing at least 120 130... and theres a car in his lane up ahead doing the speed limit so you can imagine what i thought was going to happen... He blows past me and i look to my girlfriend and was like did you ever see an accident to me cause your about to. He flys past after weaving in and out of cars trying to catch up and just misses clipping the back of the car in the lane next to me and cuts into the slow lane and hops off on the exit. What an idiot... Ill admit i do race on the streets on occasion which isnt smart but once theres other drivers around im not gonna put there lives at risk for me being an idiot. I never weave in and out of traffic at 120 like this guy. But the funniest part is i bet you hes telling all his ricer friends that he smoked me lol. I had at least anywhere from 6+ cars on him when i hit 120 and started slowing down. Are all ricers like this? I dont undertand the point of putting that many people in danger just so you can say you beat a mustang? What an idiot...

good kill, but I would say you need to practice your launch... GTI's aren't anything super fast on the stock turbo they were given

I raced one spiking 22PSI with almost full basic bolt on's from a stop and put about 4 car length on him up to 100ish MPH... and that was in my 2005 lincoln LS lol

from a 40 roll he did put a car on me to start and then I started closing the gap @ like 70-80MPH.. so he beat me by a half a car from a roll

but yeah, at your power levels you should be putting universal studio lengths on GTI's from a stop

I hate people like that. Good thing he didn't clip anybody.

Just take your time on the launches OP, you don't need a hard launch to take a car like the GTI. Just roll out like normal and gradually get on it. Good kill.

Nice kill. GTi's are decent cars. A kid in town has a real nice black one. He's got quite a few bolt-ons. It sounds nice and is pretty decent from a roll (never raced him, only riden in it). But God forbid he ever try to go from a dig. I just wish he'd race me already though.

They really just need a few things, and some traction mods. The guy I know just has, FMIC, different wastegate, full exhaust, cai, and more boost on the stock turbo. It's got some power, but no traction. His best run ever was a 14.4 on a 2.9 60'. Supposedly, from a roll, it was able to take down my buddy's cammed '99 Cobra with 4.10's. I've never had a chance to ask my buddy about it though.

Tspence, if that GTI with those mods took down that geared Cobra, or any Cobra for that matter, then the Cobra driver was in reverse. GTIs need alot of work done to keep up.

My coworker has a 05 1.8T VW Jette GLI with FMIC, downpipe, full exhaust, intake, tuned, 19psi boost, tien suspension, and whatever else I don't know about. I raced him in my SI and took him from a dig. He slowly, and I do mean slowly, caught me once we hit 100mph. He would of waxed me from then on, but we shutdown. Same VW motors/turbos.I'm not sure which GTIs have the 1.8 and which ones have the 2.0, but I've seen and raced quite a few modded ones, and there's just not much to them without a ton of money sunk into them. The local Tuner around here has a stg III VW pushing about 300whp. It is pretty much considered maxed out, from what I hear and he has a pile of $$$ sunk into that thing.

sorry, just isn't going to happen with the mods listed, tell him to get his head out of the clouds or man up and admit he has an aftermarket turbo

the 1.8T GTI on a stock K03/K04 won't stand a chance against a stockish PI 4.6L 2V mustang for that matter... might par one with decent tires and being able to put the power down but like I said on a stock K03/K04 the GTI just isn't that quick

this is my buddies GTI I raced in the lincoln... he had the works as far as bolt on mods, turbo toys and pushing the stock turbo... I think the only thing he was missing was an aftermarket manifold and some other small things that might net him small gains

don't get me wrong I loved his car and still like the clean looking GTI's... but even my buddy discovered the car was a money pit as far as performance... that and all of our friends group have mustangs/GTO and he was the slowest... so this is his new car and now he is the second fastest... behind me :-)
