ls2 corvette vs Vortech 2v
Stkjock: i deffinetly wanted to try that but according to word of mouth around here and many tire/ratio/rpm calculators a 28" tire will only gain me a few more mph up top. i really need to step down to 3.55's to gain atleast 10 more mph as its also been recommended by many popular shops around here when i called. Do you think there will be a noticable difference in acceleration? i think i have more than enough power to not worry about that but who knows....
Man I never get to race no one so I don't know what it's like and how the odds really stack up. All I basically know is numbers haha.
the t-45 is staying
even after a forged motor and 500+ rwhp
projectquick: I have the Tremec t-45 that ford put on 99-early 01 GT's. the 96-98's had a borg warner t-45.
These transmissions are considered "weaker" and inferior to the 3650 and some even claimed as "trouble-some". but i swear to god that the t-45's are a HELLUVA lot more reliable that the 3650 and just as good as i have seen many times in the recent years. This thing has taken a freaking straight *** whopping and i dont even have a single gear that grinds.
few weeks ago i called hanlon motorsports to see if i should upgrade to a tko but even they themselves recommeded to stick with the t-45 and just throw on a 26 spline input shaft, replace misc seals/bearings, and 3/4 shift fork and i should be good to 600 rwhp no problem.
