Few and far between? Are you serious? I realize you are a mod and all but are we on the same forum here?

Practically every single time that car is mentioned you get multiple comments about it being a slow fat whale. Seriously.

Like I said the Dodge guys seem to be the worst of the lot with the "my poo don't stink" type attitude. But let's be honest here... Their cars take a beating around these parts.

just to answer a question i read earlier regarding DA (even though there is a sticky of it i believe on this section) the Barametric pressure and air temps seemed to make the biggest difference in the DA one night i could be running at 2900 DA the next at 7000.. it was 92 degrees when i ran and i believe low pressure.. I'd have to look it up again.. You should always get the DA.. to get realistic comparisons of how you do each time.. there are weather websites that store the data for the pressure, humidty, air temp on an hour by hour basis so you can calculate it yourself later on if you have the time on your slip.

edit: first good DA we get here im hitting the track again.. there aren't a lot of opportunities to run here.. track is closed for like 8 months of the year.

Yeah, you're right. I was thinking more about the regulars (I won't say names) here that would think of those SRT8's as such, and there are not that many.

To be fair about 1/2 the **** talking I hear on this board regarding the Challenger has been over in the OT area. The regulars here tend to be a little brighter.

dont be so quick to confuse dodge people with LX people. many of the "hardcore dodge lovers" who drive LX platform vehicles (see also modern hemi vehicles) dont know anything about dodges except for how many different 22" wheel options are offered for their car. many of these people wonder why huge rims and 800lbs of stereo equipment combined with a camshaft swap wont break into the 11s...they were sure that it would, since it feels so much peppier than their old minivans. these are the types who show up to the track wearing khakhis..the guys who never have window chalk or tire gauges, and who do a huge burnout with their stock tires, then leave the line roasting the tires...and they have no idea why their short times are so awful. these are the same groups who complain about cars in street class being too noisy, when they cant hear their adult contemporary music from their high priced sound system...ill say it, many of them are yuppies...but they think that since they drive a "hemi charger", that they should be bowed down to by the rest of the automotive world.

do some looking around...the lx crowd has their own events because real mopar guys wont take them seriously...dont get me wrong, there are some smokin fast new hemi cars, but many of the owners give real mopar owners a bad name. needless to say, ive spent a ton of time around both long time mopar racers, and these minivan refugees driving a 425hp, 13 second car.

I lol'd pretty hard at that one, because it's 100% true, and I have seen / delt with it first hand lol. All those reasons are why I am not part of the LX crowd / scene and never go to any meets.

Well that, and since I don't have 24s, gobs of Buick vents, and a big *** stereo I'm just not cool enough to hang out with them.

I hate those. They are so tacky. I saw a 350z with them on the trunk. WTF is that?

as a dodge guy, i really like the new challenger. since it first came out at the detroit show, ive been in love with the car...my wife and i were able to get a guard to take some interior, trunk, and engine bay shots of the car during the first press day, so i had good pictures before most people, and although the production model isnt exactly the same as the concept, they did a nice job of bringing it to life...but why the hell wasnt there a manual the first year? the least the babyboomers who were lined up to pay 60 grand for them could do are to learn how to drive a stick.

also, while sitting at a stop light the other day in my DSM, a challenger pulled up next to me, and that was really the first time i noticed how massive they are...it dwarfed my first gen dsm. i suppose that is part of the 4200lb weight issue, and while i still love the look of it, they could have scaled it down a little.

also, the challenger that pulled up next to me was a V6 with exhaust, driven by a fairly young guy. he revved at me and the girl in the passenger seat was giggling. i beat the guy very very soundly, then slowed to let him catch up and they wouldnt look over...
