Idiot.
Well I'm getting to the final stages of my build. My friend came over yesterday to help me get my motor together. Everything was going smoothly, untill it was time to put the cams in. I bought a set of used GSR cams about a year ago off Honda-tech. They came in a package and inside the package was two individual SKUNK2 cam boxes. I opened the boxes to take a look at the cams and that was about it. A quick once over. Well, we go to install the second one and my buddy is looking at it kinda wierd. I'm like WTF? He's like "dude, this cam is brand new." We look at it, and sure enough it's a brand new SKUNK2 cam! Idiot must have accidently sent me one of his new cams along with one of his old ones. Funny thing is, he never sent me a message or anything wanting his 350.00 cam back (the set is a little over 700.00 bucks) LOL. The bad news is I can't use this 1 S2 exhaust cam with 1 gsr intake cam and make good power, and Vice Versa for him. The good news is I can call skunk2 and just buy one cam and have a nice set. Owell, if it's not one thing it's another with this damn car, but my question is, how do you not realize one of your cams is stock!
Woops! haha... well I was going to say if it was more recently than a year I'd probably get in touch with him and work it out to get him the cam back. I know I'd want it back if it was me and I accidentally sent it. But since it's been so long, I'd take advantage and use the better cams! (even though you have to buy a new one haha)
Sounds like an amazing deal for you. $700 worth of cams at half price. Cant beat that. When I do any engine work I bag everything and mark it. That way there is absoutely no confusion. A paint stick comes in real handy for stuff like that also.

Yeah, I sent him an email yesterday, and at the time I posted the topic he hadn't gotton back to me, but I just checked my email and he wanted pics so we'll see. I was doing some reading and apparently the skunk2 pro 2 is to aggressive for a boosted application, but I know I could trade them for the ones I want (skunk2 pro 1) but I didn't want to spend the money on cams yet. I wanted to do more work to the suspension as I'll make more than enough power with the GSR cams for now, and then I would have something to upgrade when I get my suspension done and get bored.
Ah that's cool that you did the right thing. From personal experience, aggressive cams on a boosted setup is AWESOME other than the fact that they are a bitch to tune (at least on Subarus, I had to switch to a standalone). You can really feel them pull the car hard up top!

I think there is to much overlap or duration or something. I asked a real good tuner and he said that they lost power on a big turbo set up running those cams, I think he said his clients car lost 80whp going from a CTR/ITR (780whp) cams to Pro 2s (700whp) on a gt40r set up. When they switched to pro 1s, it put them over the 900whp mark. I'm still trying to figure out if the pro 1s are gonna be good for me and my set up.
