Theoretically...?
Definitely the GT...... we are still talking about a 70hp difference!!!! Better gearing and a couple more horsepower gained/lost because of auto/manual drivetrain loss is not making up for that. Full bolt-on new edge V6's can run with and beat non PI 2v's but no way can it take a PI car, especially if it is stock. That GT could run 14's all day and the V6 will not touch 14's.
iirc, dont non-PI's run low 15's?
and full bolt on 6's will run 14's.
Also, this
it doesnt have to be a fast race to be a good race. In fact the most fun and best race ive probably had was me in my uncles 98 peterbuilt with a 550 cat and a honda civic, even more fun cause i actually pulled on him
actually, evan smith of MMFF got a split port 3.8 to run a 14.9, but he drives better then jesus
i would say a geared/full exhaust (LTs high flows or O/R etc) tuned 3.8 could pull a 4.6... but you better know how to drive better then the other guy. you could deffinately pull on a NPI 4.6 or a stock 5.0 (anyone know what a STOCK 5.0 is?
)
a full bolt on and geared 3.8 should run high 14s, a stock PI GT runs low to mid 14s, a NPI should run high 14 (5 spd coupes), half a second could very well be over come by driver error, last year i ran a 00 saleen at the track, i ran a 15.8 @ 89 mph, he ran a 15.1 @92 mph.
