Default Confidence SHOT: cobalt SS > S197

Today coming home i saw a debadged cobalt fly up behind me as i was going 40~ i downshifted to second and held it at 4k rpm's. The cobalt slungshot around me and when he got even i gunned it, we were even till i bosched the 2-3 shift( hit the limiter once) then then cobalt had me at his rear fender by the time we let off around 90~. And to make it worse, my GF rubs it in how i got beat by a "cobalt" and wont shut it, and keeps going on and on. You win some and you lose some, expecially when i blow a shift(excuse is to caught up in the moment and i didnt know i even know i was off on the shift till i heard it bounce the limiter) So... my confidence is shot, i pull out the GT after a long winter and completly have driving issues and get beat by a cobalt.. depressing! -Jon

Do you know if it was a Cobalt SS...? I imagine it had to be to be able to pull a bit on you.

Anyways, those Cobalt SS's are nothing to scoff at... they are quick stock, if modded they can be a real handful.

Ive managed down to a 12.8 w/ DR's at the 1/4 and i doubt it could have ran that but then again i wasnt on the DR's either. It was a full purple 2 door SS(not sure if SC or TC yet it was newer) But it was debadged/lowered/exhaust without a can from what i saw. He did pull a little which is what amazed me, once he slungshot around i gave it all i had and couldnt break even. -Jon

If it had a few mods it could probably pull a 12.8

I just ran into one of those the other day, my opponent was a SC version though. Nothing to snicker at, that's for sure. Find him again and don't mess up next time.

There are many SC running 12.8's or better. Tracks are starting to open this year and we've already had a TC guy run a 12.806 @ 113.83 : Mods: Tune, IC piping and a Catless downpipe (on stock street tires) 310hp and 338tq. Nice death.

sorry to hear that, but when you give a car like that enough time to WOT from behind and then wait for yourself to go WOT once hes next to you hes got that momentum on his side, from what it sounds like you could of put a car or two if you would of had an even start.
