"I hate Mustangs"

Now, I love my truck, dont get me wrong. And my wifes truck is "quick" for such a boat, I think anyways. But, c'mon now. The Hemi is not gods gift to cars/trucks, especially in a heavyass QC truck.
This might be OT, but I just threw it in here for something to talk about. I stay on the dodge forum more here lately just cause there isnt much going on here in the s/s.

Glad to see you guys are modest about your vehicles, unlike the tools at that forum.
My friend actually bought a new Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7L HEMI. After we raced and I destroyed him, he had the hardest time understanding why. He kept saying, "But I have a liter more engine, and a HEMI." He really didn't understand that a 5000 lb. truck will take more than 345hp 385tq to be quick. I even went as far as writing out the power/weight ratios of our cars to show him the differences.
I respect my fair share of Dodges....but if you use a stock Ram to race...That's just retarded.

okbfd..... Id say maybe a stock, auto, vert, 2.73 geared fox, W for the Ram. Or, about any auto fox for that. But just cause something is quick for what it is doesnt mean its fast.
Hell, the rams lose 100hp through the drivetrain, almost anyways. Most dyno at 240ish to the wheels, while being rated @ 345. Thats horrible. Dodge transmissions ftl.....
Theres also a thread going over there about "what do I need to beat an 08 6er stang?" All he has is a muffler, and thinks a cai/tuner will put him out front. The kicker is, the stang has a cai/tune too, which I told him probably did more for the other guys car than it would for the op's truck.

Now now, some folks, thats all they have to race...
Its about choosing your battles. I personally like to pick on the 'ricers' in the wifes ride. Like I said, its not fast, but will surprise the usual ricer-apparrel equiped rides out there. Now a 4.7 Ram, like mine, give it up. She put about 5 lengths on me before I could blink. I would need every bolt-on + ported heads + cams + dynotune just to = a stock ram. But, I still love it....Good thing yall werent running uphill MC, you mighta been going some different kinda explaining
jk jk jk

Picking your battles, thats right.Do the Rams really sap that much from transmission loss?
I thought the Dodge trannys of that year were manufactured by Mercedes-Benz....Or was it the suspension?
