Holy Neon Batman!
Yesterday a buddy and I were driving to Sears to get a couple of things and this completely trashy little neon quick whips a U turn to get next to me... We catch the next red light and he looks over and says "sounds pretty mean" by the way he was smiling I figured he had to have something going on....
So light turns green and sure as **** this damn Neon's front bumper is at my door the entire time. I took it through 3 gears which should be almost 90mph and this Neon was right there the whole time.... now just for clarification this wasn't the newer body style neon... we're talking like 1990 Neon.
So I wave to the guy and go about my way... well on my way home we see him parked in the McDonald's parking lot (the gay hangout around here) and I pull in because I have to see what's done to this thing now. So the basic run down is an SRT-4 engine swap, with stock turbo, some fuel upgrades, SOHC transmission, and some tuning software. He said he was spiking at around 19psi and the car made 274 on the rollers but only weighed like 2500lbs.
Moral of the story.... you just never know. And it certainly makes me look at SRT-4 neons in a new light.

A little yes... I have a bunch of friends with turboed 550hp honda/integras so I've learned to always expect the unexpected.
This was my first race with the 5.4 and the vortech so I really didn't know what to expect.... just glad I didn't get waxed by a neon

I actually asked him about that... I figure he probably beats up on a lot of unsuspecting stangs... but he said my secret was out when he heard the supercharger whine...
