C5 Z06
Theres something to be said for owning your car outright. If something happens like a layoff you dont have to worry about a repo man visiting you in the middle of the night.

Yeah I always hear that the smart thing to do is pay it off first.................but I didn't, because for one your mustang will keep losing it's value, with the economy, more miles, etc. etc. etc. You will paying more interest on a loan for a car that you ultimately don't want anymore. The Z06 will hold it's value alot better than a slightly modded GT.
My advice is sell the GT or trade it for as much as you can. Be patient if you have too. I sold my stang for 5k more than I owed on it. But it took a while. Buy while it's a buyers market. Get the Z06 and drive it while the summer is here!!!!!
Blue is also right. If you are not sure about your job security. Do not buy a new car. But you can always sell a Z pretty quickly.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I guess if I pay the mustang off first, and then (eventually) get a C5 Z06 or a C6, then I will always at least have the mustang if I lose my job or get laid off. Sure I'd have to sell the corvette at that point but at least I wouldn't be stuck with just my honda civic.
As far as job security I guess I have as much as anyone else I know right now. Which is to say it's questionable. In a service job all you have to do is upset the wrong person once and you're done. 10+ years of service down the toilet if you screw up bad enough once. To me that means not much job security when you get right down to it.
I guess I'll make a final decision on getting the vette or buying the blower for this car once I get done putting n/a mods on it.
Regardless what do you guys think of that red one I linked to earlier in the thread? The autotrader link. Good deal?

28,000 seems high. I don't know what they are going for in your area but here's and example http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/1188892376.html As far as resale value, vettes loose there pretty quick too.
Have you driven a vette, rip? I wanted a C6 until I drove one. Its really nice, and fast, but it wasn't what I was expecting as far as fitment and feel. I like the more raw feel the Mustang exhibits as well as the cheaper aftermarket. The C5s feel lighter and more nimble though. I love the C5 Z06, but if you're having ANY doubts at all, seriously man, give it a few weeks before you make any moves. You don't owe shat on your current car, and a blower would be tons of fun once you get around to buying one. Just take your time, test drive some Vettes, and don't get caught up in the moment while doing so. Sorry for sounding like I'm lecturing you man, just expressing my thoughts.
