so u have 253 rwhp when when a stock s197 has atleast 265 and around 300 tq. 4v's are about the same and ls1's r around 300 rwhp and weigh about the same as an s197 and thats if there all bone stock. not calling bs but u must be a hell of a driver

I've seen a couple of s197s put down less than 165 on the dyno, especially the autos (150-155). With that said his car and the s197 he raced there could have been less then a 5 hp difference and with the 3.73s it could have given the OP that slight advantage. And I know weight doesn't play as big a role once your moving so I'm not going to play that card lol.

I'll go with driver mod on this one. Most if not all of the cars should have at least floated by on the top end. Especially the Ls1 and the Mach. S197 GT Auto vs Manual is almost identical on 0-60 and 1/4mile due to the tranny gears on the Auto and with a Tune they are = to a MACH1.
S197 GT putting down 150RWHP that's on 6 cylinders I'm guessing (V8 with two misfiring cylinders)...or it was a S197 V6 dyno you "heard" about.

I don't agree. If you are in teh wrong gear from a roll you will lose just as if you can't shift correctly off the line. Auto's are even worse in a roll, if you let the car shift for you it may or may not downshift when you step on it to give you push you need.
