the 4.6 in the 99-01 cobras are actually much closer to a mach 1's than a termies.
for one the termies come with fully forged internals.
cant remmeber anything else atm

Lol, wow I left out some very important information. The Trans-Am is a 2001, with an LS3 in it. Just got it tuned about a month ago and it put down 434 to the rear wheels on a low reading dyno. It was definitly a termi, I never saw it super well, but I heard the unmistakable whine of of a roots blower. And yes, he just might be the worst driver that I have ever seen, lol. Terrible 60ft, missing shifts all over the place, I couldn't believe how bad it was. Should easily trap 115 when he gets the driving down. As far as the way home, we had already replaced the tensioner on it once cause it was worn, but we put another one, and apparently hes making too much power for the tensioner. Lost the belt at about 110, and looked for it for about an hour, couldn't find it. That was kinda scary walking backwards down 131 at night looking for the belt.
EDIT: Love the pic of the flying cobra, lol. The 99/01 cobras are the same 4v 4.6, just without the blower correct?

The 4v's in the NA Cobra and the Termi are very different. The Termi's 4v is really beefed up with Manly forged rods, forged crank and pistons etc. It also has much better cylinder heads and obviously revised cam and intake design. I'd say they can safely handle up to 3XXrwhp more then the NA Cobra's 4v with a proper tune. There's only a few motors in history that can handle more power through a stock bottom end then the Termi's 4v and they are all a hell of alot bigger in displacement.
The Mach has slightly better flowing heads.
The Mach has a stronger set of rods and pistons.
The Mach runs slightly more compression then the Cobra.
The Mach has a slightly more aggressive camshaft design, same as the Terminator.
The Cobra has a forged crank and so does the 5 speed Mach but the auto Mach is cast.
The '96-early '99 Cobra's came with the Teksid block which is made by Teksid in Italy.
The late '99 and 2001 Cobra's came with the WAP block which is not as strong as the Teksid but is lighter.
The Mach has a WAP block also but I've heard conflicting reports on whether it is the same one found in the '99/'01 Cobra's.

LOL @ beating a dead horse. I really like the new smileys. Yes, as far as we know, he is the first person to have an LS3 trans am in michigan, and there are very few in the united states. He isn't all to happy with the advertised power vs the power that he has put out though. It has a small cam and full bolts. Really needs to get a rear-end in there so he can put some sticky mickeys on.

Best of 13.8 with a 2.6 60 ft. Needless to say, the guy really needs learn to launch. After we left I was telling him that his traps were kinda lower than I expected, a 430 rwhp manual should trap at least 115. Then he said something about not wanting to go to 4th cause that was bad, LOL. He was trying to keep it in third gear till the end of the track!! No wonder his traps were so low. He said hes going to try and get some sticky tires and go back.

Maybe he should learn a little more about the basics, like shifting (when and how), before he worries too much about traction....
I am by no means a 'good' driver, but I would know to shift to fourth gear Any idea what rpms he was hitting at the stripe? I bet that motor was screaming, quite literally. Either way, once he gets launching and shifting down, that car should move out pretty well. Time to get out the vid cam.....
