Default Took a yamaha R1

Tonight I was cruising back from my buddies and rolled up to a light next to a Yamaha R1 (newer model). Now I know I stand a decent chance off the line because thats where my car runs its best, So the light turns green, we both start slowly accelerating and as i started to rev my motor higher and we both gave it going around 20mph. I jumped about half a car through first, second he stopped the pull and was starting to inch back, at about 80-90mph his front tire was catching my door. WE both let off at this speed. Second light an earlier 2000 trans am WS6 (not sure of mods if any) pulls up to the right of me with the same R1 on the left. All 3 of us go at the light, At the top of second gear i was about half car ahead of both the R1 and the TA. I raced that same TA again later from a 30mph and he got the jump and held it all the way through third. Modded LS1 from a roll is a deathrace :X.

I have no dought the R1 would have pulled pretty hard once i got into fourth but i was satisfied for 1-3rd gear

Dude, that R1 either wasn't even racing or was just playing with you.

I raced a R1 from a 65 roll before. I was banging gears as hard as possible. He stayed in 6th, and by 100mph he had to let off/on to keep it remotely close...

Yeah, it was fast, lol

With a horribly crappy rider they'll go 11's easy, a good rider will take a new R1 into the low 10's, perhaps better.

LMFAO, Umm....no. Just no.

A H/C/I 357w will not take an R1, I don't care if you have it in a Miata. You have a 200 shot you're not telling us about?

You do know a liter bike will do anywhere between 95-105 in 1st gear, depending on the model? And runs mid to high 9's in the 1/4?

My wimpy little 600 does 70 in 1st, and will run 10.5 in the 1/4 with a professional driver.

I'm sorry dude, but I'm raising the BS flag. It's possible it wasn't an R1, you just don't know your bikes, or it's possible he didn't know you were racing, or it's possible he forgot to put it in 1st...

I'm with Hlistr. R1s, especially the newer ones, are seriously fast bikes. If you really did beat the guy he was either a) not trying, b) a complete newb rider, or c) all of the above. Even a new R6 would walk the **** out of your car with an average rider.

Here's a video of a stock R1 vs a stock Z06. The Z06 gets absolutely walked. The only time it sort of hangs is when they're both cruising at like 180mph+

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erg8xf9bkL0

So... unless your car is a lot faster than a Z06 I'm also going to have to raise the BS flag
