Default David vs Goliath...

So I went out to get some food... well Mcdonalds... dunno if that really qualifies as food lol. But anyway... for once I actually wasn't looking for trouble... So i'm cruising on the highway and what gets on the highway right next to me? This beautiful Black convertable Viper. Now how could I pass up and oppurtunity like this right? So I shoot the guy a rev to make my presense know lol I get right up next to the guy drop it into 2nd at about 50mph i hear him downshift and I punch it. From 50 to 100 I got him by about a bumper before we had to slow for traffic... lol... Now before you go biting my head off and ripping me a new *** hole about how there is no way a bolt-on S197 of any kind is going do anything even vaguely resembling a pull on a viper... lol Here's what happened... i'm in 2nd punch it, and I make my shift to 3rd pefectly and continue on... the guy in the viper on the other hand... I had the jump cuz I went slightly before he did... he started pulling on me hard and got all the way to my front bumper and then he bounced off the rev limited and fell about 1/2 a car behind me... he hit it hard lol... Got into his next gear and caught back up with EASE and was about to pass me... but he hit his limiter AGAIN lol after that we had to slow down lol i can imagine he wasn't too pleased with that outcome lol But wow, that engine sounded AMAZING. Beautiful car... to bad the driver just plain sucked. I would have loved to see how badly that thing would have beat me had he nailed his shifts. Probably would have put at least 4 cars on me lol

Cliffs: Raced a newer Viper from 50-100, I got him by a bumper because he hit his rev limiter twice.

Ummmm. I make about the same power if not a bit more than a viper. Even if I hit my limiter at least once in every gear, I would WALK your GT bud. No offense.

What is with you always racing 11 second cars, and them not pulling away from you one bit? LOL

My trunk monkey squirts oil at my opponents tires ;-) lol

This guy didn't just hit it real quick and then shift... it was like he hit it and stayed there for a second and THEN shifted lol He fell pretty far back when he hit it lol if we would have had more room he would have no doubt passed me, even if he kept hitting the limiter lol

*edit*

I also forgot the vipers of that body style originally came with a 500hp motor... not they have a 600hp motor. His could have been the 500hp one, which would give him a bit less power than you. I don't know what their gearing is like either... but the gears he ran me in seemed pretty short. He shifted twice while I only shfted once.

A Viper should have walked you hard even if he hit the limiter for a second. Is it possible he didn't hit the limiter and miss shifted instead?

Well he definitely hit the rev limiter, there was no doubt about that... it's possible he also missed a shift. Who knows what he did... but he wasn't making that car look good. Even when we first started going his car kinda of bounced up and down like maybe he went into the wrong gear? The windows were really dark, I couldn't see who was driving it. For all I know it could have been some 16 y/o driving his daddy's viper.

I think first gear goes to about just under 60 mph. Maybe the moron started in first @ 50 mph, then shifted to second...and I'd guess second ends at maybe 90?
