that must have been an awesome race man...lol.. i can only dream of finding something to race around here, especially the blue mach one rolling around...

but i would agree with the others here, i know you beat them fair and everything, but
even with your mods, you 'shouldnt' have beaten the Mach 1,,

but congratulations anyways,,, must have been fun

Thats cool. I beat a few Mach 1 in my GT a couple times. Its always fun when you're the underdog.
next thing you know you'll be driving a honda...

wow... you lost me there...

Im gonna agree, nothing against the GT but i would think itd take more then exaust pulleys and a cai to make 4v power, not to mention the gearing.

Some people dont know how to shift... some people dont know the proper shift points and so on. Im trying to say that he may have not beat the car but he beat the driver.

Well I'm getting wider rims and NITTO's next week. Along with a new cobra front end, I hit a crub pretty hard and tore off the Roush front end and cracked two rims so that's why the new rims. I use to live in Detroit so I got my Roush for $300. They wanted $700 to get it to Amarillo in a week. I couldn't see paying double the price. Gears will be at the end of the month and then there's a guy out here who has a Black Mach1 with exhaust and 4.3 gears. He claims 450hp, with similar gears I think I could him too.

nice win either way. but, honestly, i think that was driver error. like someone said, put a DRIVER in the Mach, and outcome wouldve probably been different. cuz i dont see a 45hp increase in your mods. BUT, nonetheless, like i said, nice win.

I have found that the best shift point in a Mach1 is right around 6,000. it R/L at 6,800 but after 6,000 it doesnt pull hard at all...the power just kinda drops off.

What is the proper shift points on my GT?
really depends on ur car...my car stops making power at around 5400rpm or so....I shift at 5500 even tho r cars RL at almost 6k....if I'm racing on the street tho I shift at 6k when in forth just cuz of the fact that 5th is a long gear and I"ll have more power if I bring the rpms up 2 6k in forth so when I go into 5th I"ll b closer 2 my powerband...but I only shift at 6k in 4th...my 1 2 and 3 shifts come on at 5500rpm...the best thing u can do is have ur car dyno'd so u can c where u car stops making power and also so u can study ur cars powerband across the whole rpm range...it helped me and my car become faster in doin so...
