GT vs Mach1
My biggest qusetion when I bought my GT was how much would it take to beat a Mach1? I've never had the chance to race a stock Mach1 until the other night. I was out looking for someone to go againts and couldn't find anything all night. I decided to just grab some fast food and call it a night. I get a block away from Wendy's and I see some headlights flying up from behind me. These two kids pull up along side me and slow to match my speed. At first I wasn't in the mood to race any more and didn't rev back. They started to pull off and then I realized what had just gone past me, a sonic blue mach1 with no loud exhaust. It had to be stock. They turned right and I quickly changed my mind and went after. I caught up along side them and rolled down the windows. The passenger yelled out, "You want to go?" I responded "Yep!" They said follow us and off we went. Only instead of pulling up to the next light, there's no one in Amarillo after 9pm we drove forever. So I folowed him for like four miles to an access road. We raced from a 10. Shifting to second I put a half and into third the rest of the car. In third I just started pulling away. We pulled over and these kids couldn't have been more than 18/19. They confirmed the car was stock, but were still surprised I beat them. I told him that happens and i was hungry so I was going to get my Wendy's. Which never tasted better. They then proceeded to give the card of the shop they were going to the work on their car worked on.
I saw him a two days later and we raced from a 20. I put two cars on him midway through 3rd this time. I recently bought a tunner and i'm looking for some modded Mach1's now.

Isn't there a 40 hp difference between the Mach 1 and the GT? I know the GT in question has some mods, but unless I am missing something it doesn't look like 40 hp worth. The GT didn't list gears either, so the Mach has that going for it as well (3.55 vs. 3.27).
I can only assume that it was a "beat the driver and not the car" race. No offense.
