on my way home from work today, a silver lightning came by me at about 90mph. due to traffic i half-assed tried to catch ground on him. by the beltway, little traffic and was able to catch him. he slowed down and i got side by side with him.

at about 60, we punched it. i walked on him pretty hard the whole time. we let off at about 90-100ish due to cars in front of us. at that time, i had to slow down and get in the right lane for my exit. of course, he yanked over in the fast lane and flew past me.

i have raced a handfull of lightnings around here and i have to say, he is by far slower than any other i have encountered. i am not sure if he was stock or not but i would be surprised if he was. damn near every lighning and mustang in houston is modified.

also, i was all motor...and thank god that i was able to beat him that way cause my nitrous bottle is bone dry right now. haha...

 

Nice kill! I raced one several years ago in my 99 Z28. I barely won, but the thing i remember most was how awesome it sounded! Even over mine, i could here his blower, and exhaust.

Yeah, i hear ya about the nitrous. I had a situation once, and only once...lol, where i really could've used it, and there was no juice to be found!

I don't let that happen anymore..lol.

 

A stock Lightning doesn't have much of a chance against a 3v with your mods.

 

yeah, i road raced a suped up white lightning about a year ago who let me know on the feeder that he had an aftermarket S/C, full exhuast, dyno tune, and some other crap...either way, we jumped on the freeway and nailed it, i beat him by about a car and a half up to 110ish, he couldnt believe it. He yelled that i was spraying, funny thing was, i didnt even have the giggle juice back then.

he was pissed and talking ****...i just laughed and drove away

 

Even with the mods you listed for that guys lightning those things still weigh like 2 tons and have the aero of a goddamn house, so I could def. see you handling him like that with no spray. On the highway a lightning would need some serious mods and at least a KB to hang with your car, on the spray I doubt anything short of a 700 hp lightning would be a threat.
