Default Twincharged SS/SC

Meh, ran across this today and figured a few of you might want to see it as well.

There is a guy that works at ZZP that has a SS/SC. He has ran a 12.3 @ 114 on the stock blower (no other power adders) any ways he installed their twincharger kit. This is his numbers provided by him,

"We did a little tuning on the dyno on Friday, running just under 400whp at 22psi with a conservative tune. We then got a little bit more aggressive with the tune and made 425whp at 23psi. On Saturday, we decided to start turning it up and got more aggressive. The final result was 489whp and 486whp at 30 psi with plenty left in the car. I am going to race the car about 425whp for the first few shake down passes and turn it up from there!"

That is with a completely stock motor (minus valve springs) with bolt-ons. He brought it to the track for the first time and this is how it went..

It should hit 10's on stock internals, I though that was impressive.
Really good company, they did a 2.3L stoker on a customers car and hit 367whp on the factory Heaton.

I'm continually impressed by these little Ecotec motors. If he can cut down that sixty he could be seeing 10's with that trap speed.

+1, makes sense because they are four bangers, but still..

Can the stock engine hold that power for long? Also, how much lower can that 60 get, maybe another tenth?

Yeah he was asked about the stock internals.

"We went through this in 3800 market. When we started, people were experiencing piston failures left and right making less than 300whp. I had a couple fail myself making about 350whp. A few years later, we put a stock bottom end in the 8.60s at just shy of 160mph. Sure the car is significantly lighter than stock, but it also puts down 750 whp on the stock bottom end. Now we are facing the same situations in the LSJ market. Most people think that their motor will blow up if they make 400whp, and many do fail which leads people to believe that they need a built motor. What they really need is an adequate fuel system, a decent tune, and most important- a reasonable sense of responsibility when driving their car."

If it ever does blow I would love to see it with the 2.3L block, head, cams, and more boost.

Any underhood pics? I'm curious what the twin charge set-up looks like. Thats gotta be one hell of an intercooler at 30lbs!
