Default Ran the car again today..

Last day of the season for the track here. Was real busy with the "king of the track" competition. Juniors were running too. Long waits in between runs. Still got to go 5x though. First time I've run the car since the 4.10 install and with the much larger tires (295/45/R18 nt05).

First run was a disaster. I screwed up and double staged. His light went green and I was to far through the beam. Red lighted. First time for that. Felt like an r-tard.

Best run of the day, my new personal best was a 13.9 @ 100. 2.0 60'. DA was 4600'. The corrected value is a 13.1 @ 106.

The car definitely seems to launch harder now and seems more consistent. Less finicky. Previously with 3.55 gears and stock pirellis the best I could do was a 14.3 ET with a 2.3 60'.

While my ET is still not super I'm pretty happy with the results. Broke into the 13s finally and got an improved 60'. Good way to end the season.

BTW on my best and last run I went up against a stock C5 auto vette. I think it was an LS1. He had a 103 trap and a 13.8 ET. Beat me by a little over a car length. Only reason I think I kept up is because of my car's gearing. He had me on power and weight and a 2 tenth better R/T. I had him by a tenth on the 60'.

Was a lot of fun. I need more practice though. Will be back next spring and with a driveshaft on the car as well.

Nice job!! It's all about the seat time. At least you didn't stage with your rear tires, I love when people do that.

Thats a solid improvement, Rip. 3 tenths is a massive gain off your 60' as well. With your DA, it looks like you ran your car about as fast as it could be ran.

Nice pass. I bet those NT05's are purty. All C5's are LS1's btw.

Yeah between the NT05 and the gears it really seemed to help with the launch. I can rev higher now and while it's still possible to spin if I let the clutch out fast enough it's definitely easier to manage.

I've run a slightly better trap out there in the past (101). May have been the DA at the time. I haven't compared slips/dates/weather yet.

Mishri still has me on the ET by about 3 tenths after correction. His car has a slightly better final ratio than mine, UDP/CMDP, and slightly less rolling resistance. Oh and it's an auto. All of that together probably accounts for the differential at this point. Not that I'm intentionally playing catch up.

He's got the only other NA s197 GT that runs out there.

Did you guys use a DA calc on your hp numbers as well? I thought I remembered Mishri only making in the 280 range. Hard to see a car that heavy running 12's with that little horsepower.

He made 285whp, 305wtq IIRC.

Here's mine:

And Mishri's:

He ran a 13.5 @ 102 w/2.0 60'. The DA was 4800'. His corrected time was a 12.8. Mine's a 13.1. The dyno charts are SAE corrected FYI.

its the gears... is why with 285rwhp and 304rwtq SAE corrected that I can run a corrected 12.8.. and my mad auto driving skillz (stock tires) 13.5@102mph was pretty impressive that day too.. a lot of people who thought they would be faster than me were slower

Nice job goes to riptide.. those tires and gears helped his time out quite a bit.. wish I could have been there but just moved into a new house... 3.5 hours away from billings 3 hours away from the track though... hehe I need to get some more runs in with the M&Hs..

Congrats on a new best! How do you like those NT05's? I am thinking about picking up a set of those.
