You do realize that according to motortrend the
SS camaro has a 0-60 in 4.6 with a 13.3 1/4 mile
Mustang GT has a 0-60 in 5.2 with a 13.7 1/4 mile

Thats a .6 second difference which is huge. Also the fact that a SS manual vs the OP GT auto will be even larger.

okay not arguing but seems like everyone posted different times in the camaro vs. mustang vs. challenger comparison! So I guess its all up to the drivers!

In every comp I've seen it's never been more than a .2 second difference and the Mustang always comes out on top, not bad for a car with over 100hp defecit. The Camaro is hugely overated. As close as the cars are performance wise it certainly would be a drivers race.

Alot has been said about the car horsepower and prove of magazine times for 0-60 and 1/4 mile but please...let's also remember for us "regular" people alot of losing or not losing has to do with the driver behind the wheel.... you may have been able to beat him with 3.73 gears....maybe he could not lose you more than that car length...who knows.... but does it really matter on the street? Take it track where it counts!!!

for an auto mustang you're gonna have a hard time keeping up with a manual camaro, especially from a roll. You're gonna need a few more bolt ons to keep up.

How do we know this was an LS3 (manual) SS? Could have been an L99 auto. Those poor things have been disappointing new Camaro owners left and right without some aftermarket tuning.

I don't care if you do put 4.10's in your mustang, the Camaro is still going to put it on you every time! I hate those damn cars but they have a lot of power and pull like a freight train, ugly yes, powerful oh yah!

Try 3.73 gears, a whipple charger and a dyno tune, that should give you the edge.

I love these kind of threads. Reminds me of Fast and the Furious. At the end of the day going 1/4 mile at a fraction of a second faster doesn't mean ****.

Just cause motor trend got those times does not mean ****. The s197 has got a 13.5 1/4 mile with other testers(thats the 05-09 stangs with slight less hp than the current 2010). The camaro is faster, but not by much. Plus these are proffessional drivers, I say drivers race from a dig. From a roll most likely camaro will have the edge by a little.
