Camaro Slayed me tonight!!! :(
Bench Racing at it's finest.
Rob- You make a great point on the whole roll racing thing, and pulling ability top end.
This kinda goes toward S197's and Terminators. Terminators trap a pinch higher than Camaro SS's, don't ya think?
I don't see a 105-106 car pulling on a 100-110 car at higher speeds. It is simple physics and math. That is not bench racing, that is a fact of life.
ET = How well a car shoots off the line
MPH + Shows how strong and powerful the car is
In conclusion, if both cars run a similar ET, or even an ET within .3-.5 tenths, 2-3 MPH in a trap means the higher trapping car, will pull the lower trapping car from a dead stop, before a 1/4 mile's end.
Not sure why that one dude thinks Suspension is everything. A Whopping 15HP and 5 TQ does nothing. If you think the GT's have good suspension, get out more. You don't buy a mustang for handling purposes, unless you plan on modding the car. You buy a Vette, BMW, Porsche, 350z, etc. Cars that actually handle better, and don't weigh 3500+ lbs from the factory without a driver.

Termi has it hands down... best stock Termi trap I can remember was 114mph I think... best trap from a 2010 SS so far has been 109mph (might be a 110mph out there but I haven't seen it posted officially with a slip.).
My point was, if a bolt on GT can barely pull, or get beat by a slower car than a Cobra, no way a GT will pull on the faster Cobra.
I think 115 was the best trap stock, from Evan Smith in his 12.4 run.
Anyhow, back on topic
the 2010 with the suspension package will put a hurting on quite a few "good handling cars" out there.. (rumor is the 2011 with the 5.0 and track pack beat the 2dr M3 on a road course)
and it is essentially the same suspension that the Bullit has.
I dont think you can compare a car that has been out for over 7 years to a car that has been out for 7 months for best stock runs im tired of hearing about the termi all the time.. getting as played out as the LS1..
how long does it take for that car that traps 5mph higher to make up the 5 car lengths behind it is from a dig? .5 in the 1/4 = 5 lengths... and that looks like a lot in a race.. and keep in mind.. at the end of the 1/4 mile i just finally start my 4th gear power band, I dunno how it is for other s197s with more power..
you always like to bring up "bests" but i like average best run better, from an average driver in decent conditions.... what is it.. 12.7@112 avg stock termi run? 111? 2010 GT avg stock run is something like 13.5@106? avg stock camaro ss should soon be around 13.1@108?
and it is essentially the same suspension that the Bullit has.

You never quit do you. You have to make a big deal out of everything right?
Also, did you watch the video of my Cobra running against that 10 sec car? He was barely 5 car lengths ahead, and only trapped 5 more MPH than me, and ran 2 seconds faster. What does that say?
I use the 'best' results because they are obtained in great conditions (which means I'm dealing with results obtained in similar conditions everytime) and driver skill is never going to be suspect. I still have variances to deal with but on a much smaller scale than I would attempting to get an average.
This.
