Whats their RWHP again?! Oh its around 360+...and thats best you can come up with?! Give me 360+ HP, which I should be pretty close to now, and see what I run!!

I'm just saying you guys are defending this car like its a god or something...its unbeatable especially by a mustang...it has 426hp and is only capable of running low 13s to high 12s...woohoo!!! with the same power these cars make stock I will run low 12s to high 11s...end of discussion...all in all in my opinion its not as great a car as you guys are making it out to be...its a "possible" high 12 second car that weighs close to 4000 pounds and is ugly with a cheap interior...sorry gm guys on this "Mustang Forum" but your 1998-2002 Camaros are ugly too...i mean come on its a catfish...the only thing they did good with that car is put a LS1 in it and they made it decently light which is not the case if this huge new design
Are they heavier than a Camaro should be? Yes. Did GM have the foresight to give it the power it would need to stay faster than the much lighter Mustang GT? Yes.
BTW where in Missouri do you live, anywhere near St. Louis?

ummm all of you!! especially with the comments of the S197s wont stand a chance without
a blower...my point is that statement is wrong
If you remember right (well unless you are 16 or something) the 4th gen F-body was 'a tank' back in the day... they didn't make them light..they got heavier than the 3rd gen... as safety requirements change and 'must have' features change the cars get heavier... compare a foxbody to an SN95, New Edge, S197...
We were blessed and cursed by the stagnent F-body changes year to year.... we didn't gain any weight but the car didn't get any better. Compare a 1993 Camaro versus a 2002... then compare a 1993 Mustang versus a 2002... If GM had done ANYTHING to the Camaro in that timespan we would have gain weight as well.
2001 Z28 M6 - 13.1 @ 108mph 2.1 60ft / Bone Stock
3600lbs Race / 3440lbs Curb
322rwhp/341rwtrq (1LE Springs/FRA)
your cars curb weight is only 3440lbs...
compared to the "close to 4000lbs" of the new thats pretty light...

The only thing that really got under my skin in this thread was the guy saying that an S197 needs a blower to keep up. That didn't help keep this a stock vs stock topic, nor is it even close to being true. Stock for stock, the Camaro is superior on a drag strip and a few other areas, period, no way around it. However, about the blower comment, it doesn't take anything more than the basic bolt ons, gear swap, and tune on the Stang to even the duel. Start arguing mod for mod, and it will be a never ending discussion.
