C5 Z06... Round 2!
When i was coming home from having my car tuned for the nitrous, i had a little run in with a C5 ZO6. Long story short...we were pretty neck and neck from 30 mph untill around 100-110 mph where he started pulling.
I had a chance at the light to ask what mods he had. All he said was exhaust and tune. So, i'm really surprised you did so well with your mods.

The C5 Z produces 405fwhp, considerably more than you and as mentioned it has a fairly substantial weight advantage as well. 70 more horse and some 400lbs less. Nobody's knocking your ride but a C5 Z in capable hands should have turned your ******* inside out dry'style...
My Crank numbers can be estimated to be anywhere from 335hp-350hp(285-300whp)
And again... I don't need a 150shot to LOSE!! I lost the race... if I had a "Secret 150 shot" I would have won.
To me, it's obvious the guy didn't go into a lower gear like he could have. He would have beat me worse if that was the case. He probably started in 3rd, when he could have been in 2nd. If it's the same guy I raced before, he probably started in 4th. I guess that's just his thing. He wanted to see if he could beat me with a high gear. I still did lose ya know...
We are not arguing the fact you lost dude.
Get that through your head.
We are stating, that you should have lost by a lot, and would need a 125-150 shot to actually keep up and beat him. I've witnessed first hand three C5Z's with an exhaust or an intake, etc. run bottom 12's. How many S197 GT's with nitrous and your mods do you see running those times? I might add with the additional weight you have due to your sound system, which I am sure weighs a decent amount. Not a **** load I would think.
It would take at least a 125-150 shot for you to win, and even then, if the guy could drive, you wouldn't win by a lot. They trap at least 10MPH more than you do now. I doubt you would pick up 10-15 MPH with just Nitrous. That is a big gap.
Again, 350-360 RWHP, under 3300lbs with an average driver, compared to your 3800lbs with driver, and less power.
He should have pulled you hard, and that is all we are saying. There is no use arguing it anymore. Geez.

Little info here for ya.
Starting with the 2002 model year, the LS6 engine was uprated to 405 horsepower (302 kW) by means of a larger volume air intake, stiffer valve springs, lighter sodium filled valves, more aggressive cam phasing and lift, revised pistons, and revised block. While Chevrolet officially claimed that the ultimate power output of the LS6 was 405 horsepower (302 kW), many dynamometer tests have shown that Chevrolet underrated the engine by 20 hp (15 kW), giving it an actual total of 425 horsepower (317 kW).[2]
