C5 Z06... Round 2!
BASE WEIGHT is 3500lbs. 150 for driver, approx 100lbs for sound system stuff, hmmm. 3750 right there. Assuming he weighs 150lbs.
Get out more. Out of the 8-9 Forums I post daily on, which involves a ton of F-bodies, with no weight reduction, C5Z race weight is around 3300lbs with the average driver.
FYI- C5Z's weighed 3115 straight from the factory.
I doubt every driver is 200+ lbs, nor is the average driver.

THAT IS LIKE 8 TENTHS OF A SECOND!!!
Either way,
3300+-LBS with 350-360 RWHP> 3700+-LBS with 280-290 RWHP
The spare is good for about 30 lbs. Pretty sure his AMP alone is that much. Even without the Sound System all together, there is still over a 350lb weight difference.
My sound system doesn't weight 100 pounds lol The amp is pretty small and light even tho it pushes pretty good power. The sub and box are pretty heavy tho... but all together it probably only weighs about 50lbs or so. Plus the box sits over the rear right tire, so it has dual function lol...
None of all this really matters... Look at the gearing...
Gear Ratio Mph/1000 rpm Max. test speed
I 2.97 7.4 48 mph (6500 rpm)
II 2.07 10.6 69 mph (6500 rpm)
III 1.43 15.3 100 mph (6500 rpm)
IV 1.00 21.9 143 mph (6500 rpm)
V 0.84 26.1 168 mph (6450 rpm)
VI 0.56 39.2 155 mph (4000 rpm)
I raced him from 60 he would of had to of started in 3rd and would have been just out of his powerband which gave me a quick jump... but I nailed the rev limit and he went on by... no idea how bad that one would have been. He would have started at about 3900 rpms, peak torque hits at 4800rpms, and peak HP @ 6k
Went again from 50. He could have gone to 2nd but he more than likely did not cuz I did not hear a shift all the way to 100. He would have DEFINITELY been out of his powerband, making it much easier for me to get a jump. He would have been starting at about 3250rpms. at 80mph he would be at 5200rpms, just got to where all the power is and he was already working on passing me.

Just saying.
Nonetheless, I race cars out of my power, have better gearing, more power, etc. and still pull.
This guy was ****ing with you, get over it.
If it was a real race, where he was into it, you would be VERY far behind him.
Relax sweetcheeks, don't get all emo now.

Jeez man, you talk about us S197 dudes being nutswingers that our cars are almighty and I openly admitted from the beginning he could have gone to a lower gear. But you're over here swinging from the corvettes nuts saying there is no way it ONLY beat me by such a small amount. God forbid anything with an LS motor in it doesn't beat an S197 by a football field cuz everyone is gonna call BS and start massaging the LS motors nuts!
uhhhh, that's kind of what i've been saying this whole time, I said he could have gone into a lower gear... but nooooo that's not possible he had to of beat my by a billion buslengths no matter what!

I've been in the racing game a lot longer than most, and probably longer than you (about 10 years) and have raced plenty, and have plenty of friends with them.
I would hope a lighter 5.7 V8 higher powered car would beat a lesser powered car with more weight by a good amount.
Also, you have been arguing that you wouldn't need a big shot of nitrous or an S/C to beat one. That is gay.
I am not a nutswinger, I just know what most cars can and cannot do, and don't just race one, and immediately assume the outcome.
Not really.

Don't take what I say out of context. I know that it would take a lot of power to beat one. It would take full bolts ons and cams w/an awesome tune just to stay close to one that is really trying.
