Was on my way to get lunch and headed the same direction as a guy from work was. He has an 08 Impala SS (stock) and we managed to catch a light together. He is expecting some action so when the light goes green he nails the gas and starts pulling away. I roll out first but instead of catching up I only get lateral movement. I short shift to 2nd realizing first is useless on the cold pavement and the car shifts the other direction. At this point he has a solid 3 lengths on me and unless I do something stupid there is no way to catch him.

If it makes you feel any better I almost lost to an old honda civic once. Totally blew the launch and spun through first gear which let him stay up with me until I hit 2nd. Then it was bye-bye. But it was a lot closer than it should have been.

I see it all the time at the track. Guy with alot of Tq blowing off his tires trying to catch the slower car. No worry we know your car is betta!
