So i got busted "drag racing" by the cops... i was driving down the road a little bit south of here and some guy in a lincoln pulls up next to me and says "nice Stang, can you spin the tires?" Like i dumbass i was like hell yeah and when the light turned green i dumped the clutch at lke 4500 and roasted them through the intersection... turns out there was a cop sitting right at the light, yes i am dumb as hell, so he pulled us over and gave us both drag racing tickets... heres the thing though i never got out of second gear, which means i wasnt speeding, and the lincoln didnt go, so is this drag racing?? can i get out of this ticket or am i screwed for the next five years?? Am i going to need a lawyer to get out of it if its possible at all?

 

You should just get wreckless driving. IMO

 

I'm with MoparMan87 on this one. A couple of my friends have done that, and they all just got wreckless tickets. If you have a lawyer friend you can talk to, it would help, but I would definetly fight it.

Ya my friend did the same thing and he got like disturning the peace i think...you shouldnt get drag racing i think you could get like excessive accelration or wreckless driving or disturbing the peace IMO....but good luck with it man hopefully you can get out of it

 

thanks.. the cop told me that if i get convicted i lose my license forever with a chance to get it back once every five years... which is totally horrible.. that cannot happen

Please - that's not going to happen. Plead not guilty, show up in court and talk to the cop. I'm sure he will reduce it to something else. And that about the other poor bastard. He did nothing and he got the same ticket? Where do you live?

 

just fight it, i'm sure that the cop has better things to do then having to go to court aand spend the day. I almost got a ticket for spinning my tires(i was at work on break in my car got bored and started to do donuts in the back) but the cop that caught me was from a different town so she couldn't do jack **** about it.

 

Get a lawyer. Make sure you get out of it. Besides, who has time to go to court. Pay him $300 and wait for him to call ya and tell you you're out of it.
