Default S197 > 2010 EVO

I was on my way home from work and I was about to get on the freeway and decided to open her up a bit on the on ramp. The light turned green and I stepped on it for a few seconds. I looked in my rear view and seen headlights passing the car behind me on the on ramp, my first reaction was "oh crap its a cop" but then as they got closer they swerved in the other lane and performed the ricer fly by since I slowed down. At a first glance I laughed and thought it was a lancer.

He slowed down and I could hear him downshift, so I slowed down even more. We went down to about 20 mph roll and I started to honk it off, he took off on my second honk and I spun a bit. So he put about a car on me. I started to catch up and by the time we hit about 85 I was a full car ahead of him.

He then jumped off the next exit and I followed him because I want satisfied because at this point I thought I almost got killed by a lancer. We caught the first red light together and he rolled down his window and I asked what he had done to it he said it had exhaust and thats it. And I asked if it was turbo'd or anything and he said hell yeah man its a brand new evo. At that point I felt so much better about me barely beating it.

The light turns green and we do about a 15mph roll and this time we both left at the same time, this time no spin for me I stuck him about 3 cars behind me right away then kept pulling and ended up letting off at about 75 leaving him 4-5 cars back.

We caught another light together and he wanted to talk for a minute, so we pulled into a parking lot. And he was surprised I was that much faster as I was surprised too. Anyway I told him I wanted to run them again once I get 4:10s later this month haha.

Not surprised by that, a well driven stock EVO would win from a dig but a bolt on 3v should walk a EVO from a roll. Good kill.

Good kill! I've ran two of the new ones so far. One from a dig and one from a roll. The dig race was side by side up to about 60 mph, and the roll race turned out pretty much like yours did, lol. I'm thinking once the aftermarket settles in for those cars, we'll be seeing some quick ones.

I've only raced one evo, and that m-fer was BAD.

I still had my stock head and cam set up, but he pulled on me pretty bad. Im pretty sure he was running race gas, because the exhaust smelt of it, and it was smoking just a bit like the tune was off.

there are some quick ones up here. There was a club meet at the track a day I wasn't running my car and most of them where in the 13's (at my elevation, thats good, lol)

Turbo cars seem to do a little better at high elevation, at least they do around here

indeed they do. Thats why nitrous was one of my first mods, haha. I'd like to go turbo, but I dont like the idea of half my engine bay being taken up like that. Maybe when theres a 351/408 under the hood.

Nice kill.. was it an Evo X? or RS turbo? I destroyed one of them (not sure which) by like 5 cars last summer though he had like 3-4 people with him.
