haha yea, i know. There not very fast, but I think they are very cool. IDK, Im MORE attracted to a 2006-2007 subaru WRX as a daily driver... which would probably be cheaper (2005 audi v8's around here are 18k-25k) and easyer to live with day to day, .

It's funny. He had no problem keeping up with me since we were both in the left lane. It pisses me off. I k ow stock they have more power and I could tell this one was modified but I ran out of power real quick and 5th was useless. Makes me really think about getting serious to get a supercharger.
Suggest downshifting into 3rd whenever you do a high speed roll race. Going WOT in 4th at 65 mph puts the engine's rpms way below peak torque, and that slows down the car's acceleration, even with 4.10's.

I was thinking the same the thing. 5th gear at 100 seems a little early. Is the new edge gearing that different?

Oops. I didn't notice that the OP has an 03 GT. Thanks for the heads up.
The gearing is almost identical for both cars -> 3.38/2.00/1.32 for the S197 GT, 3.37/1.99/1.33 for the 03 GT.
However, the 03's torque peaks a little lower in the rpm range than the S197's(4K vs. 4.5K). And at 65 mph with 4.10's the 03's engine will be spinning at approx. 3.5K in 4th and approx. 4.5K in 3rd, thus straddling max torque in either gear. But even if the torque is comparable at both of these rpm's, the 03 will accelerate faster in 3rd due to this gear having a higher mechanical advantage than 4th.

I got to test drive a 2009 G37S when my dad was looking for fun, and boy that thing was fun to drive. Anything would feel fast over my sixxer but it was felt really quick to me. They have steep gearing, stock. I don't what it is but my father ended up with a 08 G35x and its sitting at like 3,000rpm's around 70ish I think it is, or just over.

I am afraid "they've" already answered back with the GTR. Not supporting them, just saying they got some crazy power out of less displacement and turbos.

Heck if I would have had my way we would have a 6.2L ls3 sitting in the garage right now in the new camaro She drove them both and the camaro had some NASTY blind spots and the g37 had the interior beat hands down. We worked out amazing deals on both and I let her decide. She went with luxury and fuel economy for her dd lol

well if you buy one i hope you have lots of patience and plenty of tylenol..... i had a 06 s4 4.2l v8...... slow as ***** and ate gas..... not to mention the amount of **** that broke on the thing on a monthly basis..... then the tylenol is for the nonsense you have to deal with at "quattro cafe" or the serivice center...... i do gotta say the car was great in the snow though lol
