Raced a Hemi !
Coming home from town on a two lane going slow attempting to keep from slinging freshly sprayed armorall (spelling) all over my car... So this black Dodge Ram with "Hemi" on the front fender flies by me in between lights. I never did line up with him at a light due to traffic in that certain area of town. I don't race too much, but I wanted to see what the new truck had. I caught up with him and he was running about 50 or so. I bumped the gas and let the flows do the talking, and this older guy took off. He got about a half car on me before I realized he hit it. It didn't take but just a few moments for me to reel him in, and I pulled several lengths on him, but those trucks DO haul some butt to be full size. The best part was we both blew by a state trooper at about 110. He had someone pulled over, so thats what ended the race.. Neither one of us saw him until we rocked his car.The guy drove past me and gave me thumbs up...

Dodge is making a new truck to compete with the Lightning. It's getting the Viper engine <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley3.gif border="0"> Should be on Dodge's site under concepts, but I don't feel like looking it up.
srt10. old news.
And yes, the old hemi put out a lot more power. But then again it was what, 70-some odd cubic inches bigger, had no fuel economy requirements, didn't have to pass any sort of emissions testing, and it was too expensive to build, which are all reasons that it died.
