also you 60' time could be alot better with your power and your stock gears. in my 94 GT with only an O/R h-pipe and slp catback i am pulling 2.0 60' times with 315/35r17 nitto 555s out back and i am hoping that with some practice you guys can get deep into the 13's with your S197s because my car is a solid 14sec car with 100hp less and worse gears(stock 3.08)
on the street i spin pretty bad especially if i mash first hard. and this is with stock 3.31 gearing and stock p zero nero tires. are you saying its easier to launch at track due to better pavement/prepping?

i would honestly LOVE to get some control arms and tires before i go but funds wont allow that right now

Mine will bog on the track sometimes, spins like a sombetch on the street though (if I try to launch like I do at the track.) OP had some BS track prep, imo.

What else could i have done for track prep? Do you think the tire pressure was to high? Any suggestions would be awesome.

i wouldnt say its easier if its your first time its just different. the sticky track does make you grab better but it can also make you bog if your not launching hard enough

your tire pressure is pretty good by bad track prep they are talking about the track itself not being prepped to well with the sticky stuff they spray down and how well they cleaned the track before letting cars on it.

You should be able to drop your 60ft to 1.8 range with some decent tires... That alone will put you into the bottom 13's or high 12's.

I feel you on the weight issue.

I'm 230, at least 70-100# on most the people I race.

There are few little tricks like taking out weight, disconnecting the front sway bar and staging differently. You shouldn't worry about those things. When you change to a good DR, you will have to relearn your launch all over again.

You will go from slipping the clutch @ a 3500 rpm launch to a 4500-5500 clutch drop.
