ITs OFFICAL...
went to the track and...I am the worst driver EVER. I am pretty damn disappointed. With all the mods i have, best run was 13.5 with a 2.2 60 foot @ 105.3 mhp. What is the deal? dosent help i am 250 pounds i guess. No matter what i did i couldn't get traction. I either spun off the line or boged hooooorribly. The weather was perfect about 70 out and sunny. I thought i had a solid high 12 second car but this 13.5 is killing me. I know the gears i have don't help. What should i run with my set up? Oh my tires were at 26.5 psi on all my runs.
The track is known for having horrible traction(in the middle of now where and sorta run down track) my nittos are just the street tires fyi.
Btw there was a new camero ss that ran a best of 13.4(all stock except a superchip or whatever)

I hope your right. I plan on is 410s and drags soon. I thought the nittos would've been good enough for traction, i guess not.

Its a tough sport, Matt. Don't get discouraged, it just take practice. You've got some really good mods and are probably making over 310rwhp, so a crappy track is always going to be a challenge for you. Your runs really aren't all that bad considering. You'll love the 4.10s, btw.
Im gonna go for my first time here in the next week or 2.
with your mods it seems like your close to where you should be. Your sixty could be better. with drag radials and some control arms you should be close to 12's for sure.
im HOPING to hit high 13's with my intake and tune and ****ty *** tires lol. its gonna be my first time tho so we'll see. I have a pretty good idea of how to launch the car with minimal spin so we'll see how it goes.

for all the drivers out there who have never been to a track before and are just planning to go. almost no experience you have for launching on the street will help you because a sticky track is a whole different game. i say you go there and take a few easy runs and feel the track out because its nothing like the street.
also you 60' time could be alot better with your power and your stock gears. in my 94 GT with only an O/R h-pipe and slp catback i am pulling 2.0 60' times with 315/35r17 nitto 555s out back and i am hoping that with some practice you guys can get deep into the 13's with your S197s because my car is a solid 14sec car with 100hp less and worse gears(stock 3.08)
