Default Yet another 300C SRT8 Run...

Left work a bit early today and headed home. The car (now with 121,000 miles, I know right? Runs 16s these days with all those miles) has been popping an SES light the past 2 days for the knock sensor (I told you!) so I haven't been really thrilled with it. On the way out to the interstate the SES light clears so I do a couple pulls in 2nd.. ahhh.. much better. Roll out to the interstate and get up to speed and several miles later a 300C comes rolling up on me. I was crusing at this point so let him pass... SRT8... sweet. I dropped in behind him and we cruise along at about 15 over. Eventually we pass by a stopped semi with a trooper which in that section of road = no more cops.

I move out next to him and get up to speed... I was playing with speeds and trying to find a good spot to hit it... no chance of slowing him down so I decide to hold 4th at 90 and see if he would give me the hit. He does (which wasn't the best for him)... I let it eat hoping the jump would negate the start from 4th and it did.. I pull a good 1.5 car lead by the time I shift into 5th and decide to tap the brakes and end the run. We both hit the next exit and I turn off again while he heads straight... both tossing a wave.

Now to find that new 5.0 in town and get something lined up.... (yes i know i'll lose by 500 car lengths... I just want to run him)

Dang man, a 90 mph roll is getting up there, especially around SRT-8s. Those things seem to pick up speed for days, but so do LS1s, lol. What speed did ya'll shut it down at?

Anyway, good run my son!

Nice kill Robert. Those 6.1's are strong. I love my buddy's cammed SRT8 Magnum. Ran door to door with another buddy's 2000 Camaro SS (LT's, catted Y, LM2, lid, tune) the other night, even with the cutouts closed, A/C blowin, and three of us in there, on a mail order tune. Not too shabby for a car that was probably weighing in at around 4800lbs on 20's. lol

I was spot on redline with my shift so 135 out of 4th and just a second in 5th before tapping the brakes.

I have to say this car feels planted at higher speeds.. sometimes it just feels sloppy while cruising around at slower speeds. Either that or I'm just way too comfortable in them (owned a 4th gen F-body since 2001 now).

Well, he said it has a curb weight of 4300lbs. Then, him and I are about 180-190lbs a piece, and our buddy in the back was about 150lbs. The car's a tank, but it sure hauls ***. Can't wait for the 200 shot and blower. lol

BS....I'm sure the only reason you won is because when you got the hit the massive amounts of oil your POS is leaking spewed on the road and his windshield, thus causing massive traction issues and blindness.

For every lie you tell a baby seal will be clubbed. Can you live knowing that you just killed a baby seal?

Good kill, but I think you're underestimating that 5.0 a good bit

....so being in it for a second in fifth gear means you got up to 200 mph, right?
