Default Monte SS

I pull up to a light next to a 80's era Monte SS. It's 11:30p.m. and Im not really looking for a race or anything, but I hear him gas it a few times. So I look over and it's two hillbillies. I roll down the window and ask him if its stock or built. He laughs and just kinda looks at me like I have two heads. After a few seconds he replies, "It's weak!!" and laughs. I don't really know what to think of this so I ask him again if its been built. He says, "I don't know, It's his car," then nods to the fat guy next to him. Same response. I reply, "So is this one."[>:]

The light turns green and I hear him gun it. So I oblige with a quick trip through the gears and he never even got close. As I slow for the next light I turn to talk to them, but they won't look my way and make a quick turn onto the next street.

I don't try to race much because the only real mod I have are gears but when you are challenged most guys have to answer the call.
To be real honest I was suprised how the ol Stang did. I have a SC in the garage, waiting to go on, and once on Im lookin for LS1's.

Those cars all came with 305's and are a lot slower than they look. Good kill, though.

My dad has a 85 monte carlo SS. It came with 180 HP. It does seem to run fairly strong, but it does have 3.73 gears from the factory. Most of these cars when tested new ran high 15's to low 16's.
