i own a 1989 mustang 5.0 notchback. my buddy wants to raceat one of those quarter mile tracks i wanna do it but i dont wanna get laughed at. he has a 1993 z28 camaro auto w/ flowmasters and k&n intake. my mods are gt40 upper and lower intake, crane cam, centerforce clutch pro 5.0 shifter, bbk 70mm tb, elec fans, long tube headers and h pipe. i was also wonder what kind of time i would be running with an average driver. thank you

 

with those mods and assuming that it is tuned nicely I think you should be able to take him. Just practice your launching and your shifting cus that is what wins races... as far as a time I really couldn't tell ya accuratley. Maybe some one with similar mods could help you with that one.

 

Considering everything is tuned right and not worn out ..You should put a good spanking on him..Just dont get over excited and screw up on the line or miss a shift ..

 

You should be able to spank that guy pretty easily. Those camaros run a high 14, low 15. The notchback runs around a 14.7 stock and with those mods im sure your a second below that.

u can hit a low 14, he will be high 14

 

If im not mistaken, lt1's are low 14 second cars stock. With exhaust and intake he may very well be into the high 13's, if your close to that it should be a good race.

 

lt1 didnt come til 94 wsnt it? 93 was still the TPI

 

The LT1 started in 1993 along with the new body style
