considering that BMWs sore interest isnt quarter mile times, you should crush a 530...my dad has an older, mildly modded 525i, and with quite a bit of work, it only runs low 16s with a 2.5L inline 6. on the other hand, it is great fun to drive on the highway, and has heated power seats, power everything...even for a 10yo car, it is very nice...

but as for the M series...ive driven a newer modded M5, and it was really something...my car only runs mid 12s, but i would guess that this M5 would have run right with me...

then again, for 85,000, it should run right with alot of things.
