Raced A Trans Am
This is turning out to be the "Summer of Oldies".
My previous 2 races were with a 383 stroker '72 Malibu, & a GMC Syclone.
Pulled up next to a sharp looking '79 "Screaming Chicken" last night at a light.
The owner said it had a 460 stroker.
No wonder it sounded great.
We started from a 10 mph roll.
I immediately pulled half a car, and stayed there thru the top of 1st.
By the top of 2nd I was 1-2 cars ahead, and shut it down.
He blew by me, and turned off.
Since we didn't have another chance to talk, I was puzzled(which happens often) as to why I was able to pull down low against a car that has gobs of low end torque. Then it suddenly hit me(which does not happen often). He probably did not go WOT in 1st because his car had skinny bias belted tires, which would have left him just sitting there spinning(BTW, that was supposedly the same reason I won against the '72 Malibu, at least according to its owner).
But a win is a win in my book, whether it's against the driver or the car(or the car's tires).
