Road & Track's mile shootout, Vortec Mustang fares vary well
In the current issue of R & T, they do a mile shootout, from a standing start. Several cars were tested from a standing start to 1 mile in speed and time. These were the street legal cars tested, as well as the time and mph:
C6 Vette - 154 mph/ 32.7 sec
Viper SRT 10 - 159.7 mph/ 31.4 sec
Lamborghini Murcielago - 168.0 mph/ 30.9 sec
Ford GT - 171.4 mph/ 29.9 sec
Vortec 05 Mustang gt (575 bhp) - 170.0 mph/ 30.4 sec
Ruf CTR yellowbird - 185.8 mph/ 28.6 sec
Ruf R turbo - 180.2 mph/ 28.6 sec
Saleen S7 twin turbo (750 bhp) 205.7 mph/ 25.9 sec
Henessey twin turbo Viper (1000 bhp) 210.2 mph/ 25.6 sec
All these cars had catalytic converters but the Henessey
The mustang is pretty impressive, but I am most impressed by the S7

I have that issue. Pretty cool stuff. I love the S7 too , but $550,000?! Come on, now. That's just crazy money. You should be impressed with a car that costs half a million.
