At my brother's school the fastest car on campus is a 96 firebird Forumla it has all engine work done to it no FI or Nitrous. It also has 4.11 gear ratios. He dynos @ 335RWHP but i dont kno the tq.

My stang has 353RWHP and 359TQ with stock gears(i kno i kno [&o]gears will be next year). my stang is 200lbs lighter than his firebird.

who do u think will win, how close etc.?

My guess is that he will get me off the line b/c his tq has to be more than mine, but i think ill start to pull ahead when im just about to shift into 3rd. wut do u guys think?

 

I think if you have a sticky tire you will pull him the whole way. He only has a chance if he has a good tire and has a big converter (if he hasan auto).

LT1's can make some serious low end torque, and to be honest he probably has more tq than you. However it will only help him for so long because you have the HP and weight advantage, so the longer you go the better off you should be. I would say if you can keep it close through 1st and 2nd you should start to pull if you haven't already.

 

if hes making 350+rwhp, hes most likely cammed. Which also means hes probably making close to 400lbs of torque to the rear wheels. Itll be close, too many factors to say wholl win. Just race him and git r done.

Gears will only help him if can hook the car, find out what tire he is on. The 6 speed cars have a junk 1st gear, so his launch will be critical.

no its college. the college has about 4800 students.

im also going to race a VR-4 thats on my brothers campus. he took me for a ride stock and it pulls hard. then when i told him that i installed a blower he said that he has a new set up. i have to see wut he has [&:] im guessing Nitrous.
